My School and their Budget

As my classmates and I print out our essays for third period AP US History, you wonder if the school is using the money for the right things. When I first came to the school last year, everything seemed to be running smoothly. As the school budget declined and many teachers cut, everything started to go downhill. We have cut days, larger classes (Don't get me started on the larger classes. You can't breathe anymore), and just overall a dis functional environment. It is hard to wait five minutes for one document to print. There are supposedly at least six or seven other printers in the school? How come only one or two or them work? It comes back to what the principle spends the money on. Apparently, he spent a whole bunch of money on IPODS for gym. WHY? I don't know. Most people already have IPODs. He also gave a student an IPAD for a recent "unnecessary" contest we had. (How much are IPADS, like, four hundred bucks?) That money could of been used to fix our printers....... I shouldn't be complaining though. The principle does do a fair job running this school and the high school is high on its academics. But seriously, why'd you need to give a student an IPAD. In conclusion, I'm not criticizing the school administration on its work, but on how it spends its money. Portland Metro Schools aren't doing so well these days due to cuts in school funding. Maybe its a state wide thing. I guess I should calm down a little bit. But, seriously, us students are crowded in our classes! (*cough*French*cough*) Haha, I'm so pessimistic! :D

A Day in the Snow

Today was unexpected when I actually saw snow outside my window. The night before I could hardly sleep due to the fact that I was nervous about whether or not I would have school. Lets just say I'm "calm and collective" right now. Yes, I still have my math homework to do, but its just twenty or so problems. haha

I went on an hour walk around my town, and just to let you know it was just like any typical walk I go on. As you might have guessed if you have read my old blog, I rarely ever put any pictures of my actual life. Well, I felt in the mood to show some pictures. Yes, I do not have as much snow as you would have thought. In actuality, just a little more than this amount of snow can cancel school. (Which it did).

So what did I do? I walked, went to the park, then to Starbucks.

When I go for walks, I always have to go to the small local park. Why? I have things on my mind, that's why. I swing for about fifteen to twenty minutes while I listen to my IPOD. My brother always makes fun of me for swinging while listening to my IPOD. It isn't any different then what I normally do on swings. Think Because I can relax while swinging, I imagine of an imaginary world or certain situations I can get into. Please don't get me started about what they are about.

I headed off to Starbucks after I sat at the park. Starbucks rarely makes my hot chocolate as hot as I want it. Hot, not medium- hot. I am picky, but so is the rest of my family. Both my parents have thrown away a drink because it was terribly made.(I did not know what was wrong with it due to the fact I never drink coffee). Yes, what a waste of money. It is so hard with prices going up these days.

That was it for me. I had nothing else to do. I went back to my house. During the time of my walk, I felt something. I realized I was walking alone while others had someone around them to talk to. My classmates I saw wouldn't even look at me. (I live in a small town). It is very hard these days for me,especially with the dramatic increase of insults I get from people. I wonder what others think of me, but in reality I should not care what they think. Being human, it is hard not to ignore what people say about us. I guess we have to live through it all.

Currently noon, I write this post. Hopefully I can get more pictures for you to see. I'm not a "photo person", more of a "film person". I prefer to make movies then to take pictures. I plan on making videos in the near future. Don't know if I'm going to post them on here or on my YouTube channel. I'll tell you otherwise. Anyway, have a nice day. Hopefully I'll get going on my math homework......

First Impressions

First Impressions They are important in how people view you. They are extremely important in an interview for a job. Recently, I talked to my mom about this subject. First impressions can tell someone who we are with just a few minutes. They can be good, but also bad. How can they be bad? Lets say you are applying for a job or having a college interview. (Something on the lines of that). You act in a manor which is unappealing to the person you are talking with. They apparently find no interest in you whatsoever, so you don't get into the college or the job. First impressions also apply to meeting people. I've made many mistakes on talking to people for the first time. One thing is I talk way too much about my problems and how, "I never do anything." I should be more interested in what the other person is talking about rather than just thinking about myself. It isn't bad to talk about yourself, but if you are only talking about yourself than you have a problem. There is another problem with first impressions. They can deal with how you look also. If you are dirty or don't seems to dress nice, people might label you as a slob. I really dislike judging someone by how they look, but that is how society works these days. It relates to me in high school. People at my school tend to talk to the person who dresses in the nicest clothes and is well put together in appearance. If you are sloppy in the way you dress, then people back off. The "sloppy" person could be a nicer person then the other. That is how I feel. I don't have the best sense of style, but I do try to dress casual. But hey, that is how high school kids are. Anyway, first impressions can be very important in business and in your social life. Hopefully we can make a good one.

If it Were to Snow

I have given up on the weather man. The last two or three times he said it would snow, it did not snow. He should know that we school children dread the feeling of a snow less night. I guess he (or she) is doing their job. Portland is apparently suppose to be getting snow showers for the next few days. Most likely, those places will not including where I live. Even though I live at a high elevation, not an inch of a blanket of snow hits the ground. Maybe it is just me, but I love the feeling of waking up in the morning with an inch or two of snow at least.(Especially on a school day. Those who do not regularly get snow know what I mean) Well, I am lucky I get to miss school on snow days. When my dad was a kid in St. Paul, he had to go to school even when it snowed. On the other hand, my mom lived in Los Angeles.(You hopefully understand what I mean) Even on ice covered roads, my mom refuses to drive. Because of her fear of driving on wintery conditions, I've missed a few days of school. The reason for that is we lived at a higher elevation and the lower elevation would have clear conditions. I guess that is how it is then. Anyway, I doubt we will get snow, or enough to close the school. I seriously just want to build a snow fort!
